Wish lists for my friends Dec. 3rd, 2008 @ 10:38 am

New year, new friends. Here are more friend's wishlists that I've found, as an update to the last batch from a couple of years ago.

If you would like me to take any of these links off, just let me know.

If you're another one of my friends or a significant other of one of my friends, then please send me your wish list. Let me know if it's ok to post it or not.

I need wishlists for the following people and it doesn't have to be an Amazon wishlist.

You're so hard to shop for. Apr. 27th, 2008 @ 11:04 pm
I hear that all of the time from my friends and family. It's usually also accompanied by "You already have everything." and it's friend "You keep just buying the stuff you want."

I assure you, I'm as greedy, materialistic, and consumerist as anyone you can find. There is an infinite amount of stuff I want. I also make it really easy to find stuff I want. I keep detailed lists: 1, 2, 3 (UPDATE: I don't use Kaboodle anymore), and 4.

However, you know what? Buying that kind of stuff never makes a good gift, anyway. Good gifts are things that I never knew I needed, wanted, or liked. Then, even better that those, the very best gifts, aren't even things you can buy. I'd much rather share a special experience with friends. It could be just an evening together, going to an event, a show, or attraction.

Let's go camping, Teatro ZinZanni, a nice restaurant, a party, live music, a road trip somewhere, out drinking, stay at a hotel, go shopping, or something along those lines. Even if you can't join, you can help plan it or make reservations.

Hobbies and wishlists Nov. 20th, 2007 @ 11:37 am
I've been told, in the past, that I'm hard to shop for and I can't disagree more. Yes, I do admit that I have a tendency to just get the stuff I want, but I'm not a compulsive so there is a huge backlog of stuff I want and really can't justify getting for myself.

I'm always getting into new hobbies so that is fertile ground for gifts. This year's new hobbies include comic books, building electronics from kits, bartendering and tiki paraphernalia, geek stickers (not bumper stickers), and we just got a Nintendo Wii which is just as much Sabrina's thing as mine.

All of the comics I'm reading are on my comics inventory. Any back issues that are on the list that I don't already have would be awesome. Don't buy issues that are just coming out, though because I have them subscribed so I'll automatically get them.

For the rest of my hobbies, I use my del.icio.us wishlist to keep track of random wishlist stuff and shopping sites.

Then, there is always the standby Amazon and ThinkGeek wishlists for books/games/toys.

For Sabrina, she's really into our Nintendo Wii right now so any Wii game that is on my list will become hers. She's really excited about getting a lizard. Her Amazon Wishlist has a bunch of lizard books in it. I think she's also looking for a nice print for our wall but I think she's particular in what she wants. Fish themed stuff, however, is always on her mind.
